Just as promised, Nintendo unveiled the successor to the Super Nintendo at the Shoshinkai Software Exhibition '96 on November 24. In a hail of publicity, the Ultra 64 finally turned from the stuff of dreams to something to touch, and the reception it received was that of general mass excitement, with just a touch of disappointment thrown in by some for good measure.
